Meet K. Ford, Jr.

Meet K. Ford, Jr.

Kevin Ford, Jr. is a proud son of Prince George’s County and a leader who believes government should work for all of us. His life’s work—spanning real estate, public service, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing—has been focused on building systems that empower families and strengthen communities.

As founder and principal broker of 4D Properties, Kevin helps residents, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits access opportunity through real estate. He also serves as Vice President of the Marlboro Pike Partnership CDC, where he leads neighborhood revitalization and economic development efforts along one of the county’s key corridors.

Kevin has also been a driving force behind cannabis equity in Maryland. As the architect behind The Uplift Companies and Uplift Action Fund, he worked alongside advocates and lawmakers to shape what many consider the most equitable cannabis marketplace in the country. His policy advocacy helped pass legislation that prioritizes returning citizens, minority entrepreneurs, and communities most harmed by past drug policies. To date, his efforts have helped over 1,000 Marylanders access the industry through workforce development, licensing support, and education.

In 2024, Kevin was elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention, helping shape the party’s platform during a critical election year. He also served as the Maryland State Director for Win With Black Men, a national initiative aimed at mobilizing Black male voters and fostering civic engagement. In this role, Kevin led statewide efforts to encourage voter participation and amplify the voices of Black men in the political process.

Additionally, Kevin was selected as an inaugural fellow of the James E. Clyburn Political Leadership Institute, a premier leadership development program organized by the Omega Network for Action, which prepares emerging Black leaders in public policy, campaign strategy, and civic engagement. He also serves as an officer of the South County Democratic Club, where he works to advance grassroots organizing and build political power at the local level.

Kevin also served as Senior Advisor to former Prince George’s County Executive, The Honorable Rushern L. Baker III, during his 2022 gubernatorial campaign. In 2025, Kevin took on the role of Campaign Manager for Baker's bid to return as County Executive in the special election prompted by Angela Alsobrooks' resignation to join the U.S. Senate. While Baker did not secure the nomination, Kevin's leadership in the campaign allowed him to engage with residents across Prince George’s County and the state, gaining firsthand insights into the issues that matter most to Marylanders.

Through these experiences, Kevin entered the political arena with a foundation built on practical advisement and instruction. His journey has been marked by a commitment to listening to constituents and translating their concerns into actionable policies, reinforcing his dedication to public service that is both responsive and inclusive.

Family First

Family First

Kevin lives in Glenarden with his wife, Imani, and their two sons, Kevin III and John. Their journey began as high school students at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, VA, and continued through Morehouse College (‘11) and Spelman College (‘10).

Imani, also born and raised in Prince George’s County, is a thriving McDonald’s franchisee, overseeing operations for seven restaurants across the County—and one of the few Black women in the area to lead at that level. She serves as a Board Member of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, bringing her passion for community advocacy and women’s health to one of the region’s most vital institutions. Her family has long been committed to giving back, generously supporting community organizations, educational programs, and causes that uplift Prince George’s County and beyond. Together, Kevin and Imani are raising their family and building a legacy grounded in faith, service, and a deep love for their community.

For Kevin, this campaign isn’t just political—it’s personal. It’s about families. It’s about our future. It’s about making sure our state government works for all Prince Georgians.

This campaign is about us — about making sure that every family in Prince George’s County, no matter their zip code or income level, has what they need to thrive. It’s about showing up, speaking up, and building a government that works with and for the people. I’m running because I believe in the power of informed, engaged communities — and I know we deserve leadership that brings people together, listens deeply, and leads with love and purpose.
